One of my biggest challenges in establishing my brand has been maintaining consistency, especially when things get tough. When you’re chasing something you’re passionate about, you naturally want to see progress — more fans, more engagement, more opportunities. But the truth is, growth doesn’t always move in a straight line. Starting something new feels exciting at first — that initial spark can light you up and push you forward. But when that early excitement fades, only true self-motivation and an unshakable drive keep you going. Trust me, I’ve been there.
Over time, I’ve learned that consistency is the secret weapon. The people who win aren’t always the most talented, smartest, or even the most recognized — they’re the ones who refuse to quit. They make a decision deep down that this is what they want, and no setback, no rejection, and no delay will stop them. That mindset is what separates dreamers from doers.
If consistency is your struggle, start by finding ways to measure your progress. It helps you see that you’re still moving forward, even when it doesn’t feel like it. Track your social media growth, the number of shows you’ve played, or how many songs you’ve created this month. Celebrate every step — big or small — because progress is progress. And while you’re doing that, remember to be kind to yourself. Growth takes time. You are moving forward, even when it doesn’t look like it yet.
Never despise small beginnings. Those tiny steps you take daily — writing for 20 minutes, practicing your set, posting content — eventually turn into the huge wins you’ve been dreaming of. Just make sure the work you do is meaningful and high-quality, not just rushed to check a box. Approach your craft with care and intention. Each action should move you forward, sharpen your skills, and bring you satisfaction in knowing you gave it your best.
Networking With Intention
We are all connected — and we all need each other. The road to success, peace, and longevity in the music world doesn’t have to be walked alone. Many have already traveled it and are more than willing to share what they’ve learned. That’s where networking and building genuine relationships come in.
Networking isn’t just a buzzword — it’s a superpower. Honestly, it’s taken me farther than sending résumés or waiting for “the right time.” Most of my biggest opportunities came because of people I built real relationships with. In this industry, a trusted connection can open doors faster than any application ever could. Sometimes, all it takes is a phone call to someone you know to skip the red tape and make things happen.
Look for people you can collaborate with and build something mutually beneficial. True networking isn’t about taking — it’s about connecting, creating, and contributing. That’s how you level up and even surpass people who might have more talent or resources. When we come together and combine our skills, we can create something the world has never seen before.
🎶 "Finding your seat at the table isn't a one-time move—it's an ongoing journey of showing up, defining your voice, and building connections that last. The industry may feel crowded, but there's always room for authenticity. Keep carving out your space, because the world needs what only you can bring."
